Shop till you drop

Cocktail night and poker

Before we even start, just to clarify dry ginger ale is not the same as ginger ale that you get in Finland.
As you can see below, it's cocktail night!!!!
Starting from the left. We have tomato juice, cranberry juice, mango juice, dry ginger ale, tonic water, red bulls, milk and the green thing infront of the tomato juice is fresh mint leaves.
Paul had a ton of booze that needed drinking. That's how we saw the situation, he might disagree.
So what do need for making a great mojito, Suski ? Bacardi rum, sugar, lime, mint, tonic and an empty bottle of Stella Artois!
Let's put the lime and sugar into the bottom of the glass. YES!

Squeeze the juice out of the limes with the empty bottle. Get the juicy flavour going.
Be gentle, you don't wanna break the bottle or glass like Kino did! In his defence, he works out (and he had already drank couple of cocktails)

Back to the mojito. Get your fresh mint and slap them. Seriously just slap them couple of times and enjoy the fragrance of mintyness ;)
Now, even though Suski added ice first, you should put the rum and then add the ice.

Or else you will have hard time mixing the rum with lime juice ...
Finish the drink with a splash of tonic water.
Holy mama, that looks good.                                                             There is a satisfied Jenny.

After a few drinks, we played a game of Texas Hold'em. Why is Kino not in this picture? Because he lost in the first few rounds of the game and the winner of the whole thing was of course..... Drumroll please...... SUSKI! It's all thanks to her po-po-po-pokerface.

The next day aka hangover

The morning after, Kino woke up energized and jolly. Since Paul had never tried a Bloody Mary before Kino decided he would make him one. All you need is ground black pepper, Tabasco, HP sauce, vodka and tomato juice. We left out the celery cause it's only for fancy people. Kino is not one of them...

Mix black pepper, Tabasco and HP sauce into the glass with vodka.

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Few drops of Tabasco or more
Teaspoon of HP sauce
4cl vodka

Fill the glass with tomato juice and stir. Say goodbye to that hangover and you are ready to start your day.

Like Suski here, she is ready for her first day at work.

Shopping

On Thursday, we went shopping at Target. Kino made some questionable choices...

...But so did Suski...

Then things really got out of hand.

At the mall Suski found herself some new company...OINK! It looked like Kino.

In the evening we met up with Paul and had a delicious meal. Thats all for now, till next time...

Beach and Baguettes

French Market

On Friday we headed to the other side of the city to pick up another couchsurfer to come stay with us for couple of nights. She suggested we'd go pick her up from a French Market that was in town for the weekend and so we did. We were suppose to meet Jenny around 6pm, but since she had some trouble getting there, we ended up spending most of the evening in the market.

Here's the market when we arrived and on the right you can see a funny sign we found on our way there.

And there's Kino and our lovely host Paul, both really confused about what's going on.

The market had a bunch of little stands offering different kinds of French products f.ex. Cheese, wine and crepes. Some stands were offering other products as well like table cloths and lingerie.
Here's Suski checking out how to make crepes properly!

The weather was nice and warm the whole day, so in the evening when we finally found Jenny, we all went to buy some vegan ice cream!

When the sun had set a live band started playing some smooth jazz for the audience. The band was really having their groove on!
Here's still a night time picture of the market and the cool gazebo they had in the park.

The beach
Saturday was really hot! The sun was really burning and no sign of wind anywhere. This could only mean one thing: beach day! Jenny was involved to some volunteer work so it was only the three of us.
Here's the house we are currently living in, and on the right our host Paul all ready for beeeach!

Some of the bags were a bit heavier than others, but sharing is caring, right?

This one is from Chidda, which is our nearest train station. As you may guess, the train was a bit late so we had some spear time to do all kinds of stuff..

When we got into the city we had quick search for a beachball. During the shop hopping Suski found something from her childhood, does anyone else remember these?

Boys got a bit crazy in the ball store and ended up buying all together 5 different balls. Choosing the right balls took a bit time so we missed our tram and once again we had some spear time on the tram stop:

After a 30 min trip to the Glenelg beach, the sun is still shining and Suski is super happy.
Then there is nothing more to do than lay back, relax and let the sun do its job. Don't you worry about sun screen, we put tons of it and everywhere. We even went swimming and you might think its warm but... It took a little while to get used to it. Suski continued sun bathing and the boys continued to play with their balls in the water. Few hours later: guess who got hungry again?
Subway flatbread 12inches (30cm) Italian BMT with avocado...omnomnomm..!

On our way back home we stopped by on the Rundall mall to search for some nail polish remover (u know how ladies are always in the need for something). Well, we didn't get any of that but instead we got this cool picture of "the balls of the mall"!

That's all for now. Tune in later, alligator ;)

Because we can

This is what has been going on so far:

First day of the trip,

Apartment was given away and now we are officially homeless.
This is all that was left:

Day two,
After having a crazy farewell party in Helsinki we arrived to the airport at 5am Sunday morning. Here's how things looked like in the airport:

Struggling through a painful hangover we managed to spend 14 hours in the airport. We had some hangover food :)
Finnish "Barley paella" with fried rainbow trout,
sea crab, mussels, and lobster sauce
Fried zander with dark dill seed sauce
and vanilla+seasoned parsnip purée
Chili, ginger chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream  and raspberry sauce
Mousse of yoghurt and organic honey
with Lappish cloudberry

After a long day we finally got into the plane that departured from Helsinki at 7:30pm the same night.
Here's Kino feeling excited to leave from Finland:
And these are the last pictures from Finland,
See ya' bitches!
We arrived to London around 8:30pm (London time). After getting off the plane we faced about the longest border line EVER!
Seriously people, this is only one line....

After an exciting and long queuing we dropped our luggage to a storage in the airport and headed out to the city. Here's Kino on the left waiting for the London express at the airport and Suski on right posing at Paddigton station after arriving from the airport.

Our plan is to stay in the city till the morning. We headed to Piccadilly circus with the underground, in search of food. As you can see below there is a map of the underground. It might look like a maze but luckily we had Suski.

After we arrived in Piccadilly circus, we found Kino´s favorite fast food place. KFC. Ommm nomnomnomnomnonom....
After a finger licking meal, finding a club to party in was easy too. There were promoters everywhere trying to get us to go to their bar/club.
We decide to try out a club called Avalon(39-45 Shaftesbury Avenue London Chinatown W1D 6LA) 20 pounds for entry fee. Optional cloak check(we didn't know that. It was 2,50 pounds per item). Even though the club was pretty empty and drinks were expensive, we decided to stick around. It was anyways a sunday night but after an hour the club was packed and the DJ was killing the dance floor.

Suddenly the music stopped and the party was over. It was only 2am and everyone headed to a club called Rise. Free entry for Avalon costumers. Mandatory cloak check, 2,50 per item. Kino had like three hoodies on and they charged each one separately. Damn rip off... Prices for drinks hasn't changed.  Still expensive but to our surprise there was happy hour. 2 drinks for the price of one :) Since Kino was paying with his credit card and they have a minimum charge of 10 pounds, the two drinks wasn't so cheap anymore. He found out the hard way....

We left before the club closed and finding the night bus was not easy. After a lot of walking and asking around, we managed to find the right bus and headed back to Paddigton station. Upon arriving we realized that there is still few hours till the first express train. We took a little power nap in the station.

Day three,
Tired and exhausted, we checked in to the airport and had an english breakfast.

Next stop Kuala Lumpur. 12 hour flight and when we arrived the weather was cloudy but still damn hot. Saw this on the way to KL central. Surfs up, duuuude.

This is day four
It was time for shopping, so we expressed our way to a place called Bukit Bintang. Started off in a shopping center called Pavilion. Surprise, surprise we were hungry once again :) So, we grab some Dim Sum.

The damaged of the day,

After all this we are finally going to Adelaide!
